News and Events The Gratiaen online (02/09/2008) The Gratiaen Prize, Sri Lanka's foremost award for the best work of literary writing in English, now has a home on the Web. Long ago and far away (04/07/2008) An interactive story time for the youngest members of the British Council's Young Learner's Centre. This month our storyteller is Catharine Baldock with ‘Ringo the Flamingo’ written by Neil Griffiths. A collection of short stories by BAFTA winning, British-Sri Lankan writer Asitha Amerasekere, will be launched at the British Council by the Perera-Hussein Publishing House in association with the British Council.
